Q: How do I decide on an inspector?
A: You should call them and ask about credentials and experience. You should feel that the inspector is qualified, experienced and attentive of your needs.  Prices often reflect experience and quality – you usually get what you pay for.  A good inspection can save you thousands at the closing table and in the long run – is it worth saving a few bucks with so much at stake?

Q: What credentials should your home inspector offer?
A: A professional home inspector should be Licensed, Insured and Certified by a professional organization.  Our inspectors are fully insured, licensed in all areas that are required, have passed the National Home Inspectors Exam (the industry benchmark for knowledge), and members of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI).

Q: What does the inspection cover?
A: Our inspections cover every built in component from the foundation to the roof, abiding by the industry standards of practice.

Q: How much notice do you need to schedule my inspection?
A: Typically our inspections are scheduled on a “first come first served basis.”  However, we are willing to adjust our schedule to accommodate your needs (within reason). We can even perform inspections on the weekends and will accommodate RUSH inspections with as little as a few hours notice.  We are there when you need us.

Q: Couldn't I just have a friend or family member who is in construction take a look at the home?
A: This is one mistake many potential buyers/sellers/homeowners make. Even if the person you are considering may be skilled, they are not trained or experienced at professional home inspections. Professional home inspection training and expertise is a unique and like no other. Professional inspectors a keen eye for spotting defects. This skill takes extensive training and experience in doing inspections to develop. Most contractors, and other trades professionals hire a professional home inspector to inspect their homes when they make a purchase.

Q: How long does it take to complete an inspection?
A: Most Inspections take about 3-4 hours. These times may vary depending on the size, age & condition of the home.  Some inspectors say they can complete an entire inspection in 2 hours or less.  We want to give you the service you deserve & take the utmost care to carefully observe all components in your home.  Most importantly, we want to be able to answer all your questions as they arise.

Q: Should I be at the home as the inspection in done?
A: You can be present at the site of the inspection.  This gives the inspector a chance to show you defects and explain them to you.  The inspector can also walk you thru important maintenance issues.  In the event you cannot attend the inspection, no problem; Our detailed, easy to understand report will allow you to view the property, systems, and all items of interest as if you were there.

Q: When will I get my completed report?
A: We make every effort to produce your report within 24 hours of your inspection.  Your inspection report will be posted on our secure website and we can email/fax it to you immediately after it is completed.  Your summary report, excluding digital pictures will usually ready within 2 hours after your inspection, and the complete final report is available to you within 24 hours.  This gives us a chance to double check our work and ensure the most accurate and thorough report we can produce.  Also, we are available to go over the entire inspection report with you, one on one, if you need it.

Q: What if I have questions after the inspection & initial consultation are over?
A: Once we perform your inspection, we consider you a client for life.  Do not hesitate to call us anytime between 8am & 8:30 pm Mon-Fri, for as long as you own your home.  Feel free to call us to ask any question (no question is too small) about your report or your home.  We will always give you free, professional advice. Plus,  if we can’t answer the question over the phone, we will come back out for a courtesy look at the item in question.
